Staying in a great boutique hotel now. Agoda had this hotel as a 4 star. But the reviews had it as good. I know from experience and 4 months on the road, stay with "very good" or above. There's a reason reviews are questionable. I'd rather a 3star with a "fantastic" review than a 4or even 5 star with a "good" one. With Agoda thers not much risk, just do your homework and read the reviews.

Best Value for money of hotels in Vientiane spacious rooms and great views from balconies of Meknong River 8,3 I have stayed in many hotels in Vientiane. This hotel is far and away the best vlaue. The average room size are considerably larger than you normally get for an approximate $50.00 per night hotel cost. All of the rooms have balconies and many have excellent views of the nerby Mekong. Although it is an older hotel, it is clean and tidy. On the downside, the breakfast is not much to brag about, but that's the case with the great majority of the hotels in Vientiane. If you want to get any thing warm to eat, you need to get there before the Asian tour groups have empited the heating bins shortly after 7:00 AM. Internet in rooms is an 'on again, off again' thing. But the connection in the "Inernet room" is not much better. Staff is very friendly and tries to be helpful, but typically speak little, if any English. But even with those minor problems--a great value in Vientiane.

A few local bars on the walk with cold beer. What more could you want. Great view over the river to Thailand. Restaurant Tip: Rays Grill, good food and personable staff

High standard but the wifi did not reach all rooms. Breakfast served at he poolside with fresh air included. Walking distance, 15 minutes, to city center. A few good restaurants in the neighbourhood. From the pool area you have a perfect sunset-view over the Mekong river with Thailand on the other side.
